There is no Victory without Beginners

Are you looking for a co-op game to play with your friends that focuses on aim, perspective, and strategy? Well you have come to the right place! Valorant is a 5v5 hero tactical shooter game by Riot Games. Strategy is most vital, especially when playing with random people in the discord VC. For beginners, the first agent you choose to play can become your main, with the exception of trying out new characters. So, based on which of the six maps you’re getting, choosing the best agent is a great help. The hardest agents to play in Valorant are Viper and Breach. Viper requires the ability to utilize energy because you could be losing 5 or 10 of your energy depending on whether or not you’re using both your “Q” and “E”. On the other hand, Breach relies heavily on positioning. With the correct positioning, he can deal the most damage to the players in his vicinity. When utilized properly, both Viper and Breach can be OP (over-powered). When it comes to the easiest agent to play, Phoenix is your guy. He is quick and easy to learn with his fiery hands! He is even better to play when the right person is behind the screen. Starting the game may be difficult for new players since it has been out for over a year (It came out on June 2, 2020) and a multitude of strategies have been made. But like every game, starting as a noob is the most important part. So hop onto your PC and enjoy the first-person shooter game along with your friends! You’ll meet new people through this game through Discord by creating group chats with other people who play Valorant. There are also just a lot of desperate people who play this game to find friends, but hey that’s every game! Have fun fellow agents!

5 tips for Beginner Valorant Players:

  1. Perspective is key; someone should not be standing too close to a wall because other players can see you before you see them.

  2. Use “W” less and “A” and “D” more. When holding down “W” when running, it's harder to stop and aim properly. When using “A” and “D”, strafing will let you adjust more properly when rounding a corner and makes you more difficult to hit.

  3. When facing an opponent behind the wall, move back a little bit and strafe with “A” and “D” to get a fairer fight and make you faster. Holding shift makes you slow and noisy. This makes peeking much easier.

  4. Keep two guns. A way to keep 2 guns in a game instead of one is by putting your Classic pistol on the ground and having your Shorty (or other gun) out. First, you buy your weapon of choice (Ex: Shorty) and place that on the ground. Then Pick up your Classic so your shorty will not despawn. This allows you to swap guns throughout the game; however, when you drop a gun on the floor it loses its value and you can no longer resell the gun.

  5. Know Basic callouts:

  • Frag: kills (30 frags = 30 kills)

  • Hell: Low Ground

  • Heaven: High Ground

  • Eco: Economy (Eco Round = Save round for money)

  • Refrag: Killing the enemy who kills your teammate who is close to you.

  • CT: Defender spawn

  • T: Attacker Spawn

  • Ropes: Areas with ropes that you can attach to, only used in Split.

  • Hardcamp: Stay in one fixed place and do not move even if your teammates are dying.

  • Def: Short Form for defuse.

  • Elo: Your rank/standard in the game.
